I believe in God, and was baptized as a baby so why should I get baptized again, or at all? You may be surprised that in the Bible, there isn’t one mention of babies getting baptized. In those times, babies were dedicated to God as a way of parents thanking God for their precious gift. Even Jesus Himself was dedicated as a baby.
Babies don’t sin, they don’t know the meaning of sin. They are pure, a gift from God to us. Getting baptized as a baby downplays the importance of Baptism. In getting baptized, you are repenting from sin. You are essentially “burying” your old lifestyle to be born again in Christ, committing to living a life of righteousness as He did, and publicly acknowledging that He is your Lord and Savior.
Baptism is a turning point in your life. You’ll feel at peace as the Holy Spirit dwells in you. You will not only be able to better control sinful behavior, but your faith will grow as time goes by, and as a result, transforming your life with so much positivity and peace in your heart knowing that Jesus has your back.
